If I ever invite friends over for a shindig, this is the recipe that I will serve.
Bourbon Slush
2 cups sugar
9 cups water or 7 cups water and two cups tea (I use tea that I brew)
12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate (store brand is good- I use no pulp, as pulp makes me gag)
12 oz frozen lemonade concentrate
2 cups bourbon
Soda-Squirt, Wink, etc. You fill the glass with half slush and half soda, or you just let it melt a bit, and enjoy. Take a guess on how I best savor this concoction.
Bring the sugar and water to a boil. Simmer for15 minutes. Let the syrup cool then add frozen juices and bourbon. Freeze for a few days covered.
You need a big container or containers. It makes 2 1/2 quarts.

It makes me feel cooler just reading about it.
ReplyDeleteYour comment on my blog today cracked me up. Leave it to me to remind someone about their laundry, lol. Great getting to know you through your blog. I think we'd get along well in real life :).
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever tried gin. I rarely ever drink, so I have had the same bottle of Amaretto and an unopened bottle of wine forever. I think the wine was a housewarming gift from the neighbors at the house my ex and I bought in 1998. It probably went bad around the same time the marriage did, but I keep dusting it and moving it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa
ReplyDeleteI just commented below and then saw this post too!
Bourbon Slush sounds very refreshing and perfect for Florida. All I need today is a bowl of hot soup to keep me warm!
